Eureka! is the UK's only fully interactive learning environment designed especially for children and is packed with opportunities to learn though discovery and play, making it the ideal venue for a school trip. Curriculum-focused galleries, hands-on activities and new enabler-led Creative Journeys support learning in a range of subjects at Foundation, KS1 and KS2. Early Years visit options are also available for under 5s and Science Night Sleepovers and themed Challenge Days for KS2. Everything about Eureka! is designed to make school visits enjoyable, inspiring and, above all, easy to manage.

Magna Science Adventure Centre is a dynamic, unique and hands-on education venue. Experience four themed pavilions of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Living Steel, Sci-Tek and Aqua-tek a new outdoor water play area. Magna caters from KS1 to higher education and covers the curriculum themes of Science and Technology, Art and Design, History and Geography and a range of applied and vocational courses.

The National Coal Mining Museum preserves the heritage of the English coalfields and offers an exciting selection of activities for school groups from key stages 1-3. These include living history workshops with characters from the 1940s, Victorians, and self-directed trails in materials, rocks, forces and numeracy.
Explore life underground and learn what was like to be a coal miner at Caphouse colliery at the National Coal Mining Museum for England. The Museum offers school pupils of all ages exciting and unique opportunities to learn about the history of coal mining and the heritage of the English coal fields. Our underground tour gives students a unique opportunity to experience first hand life in a real coal mine. Step back in time with one of our living history characters or take part in one of our interactive science workshops. Alternatively, 'Dig deeper' with one of the mining staff and find out more about Caphouse colliery, or follow one of our free self- directed trails around site to discover more about rocks, materials or habitats. You could complement your visit with a free loans box.

The Education Centre has four dedicated teaching areas and an extensive handling collection containing many beautiful, strange and fantastic items. We use a variety of teaching methods, focussing on interaction to stimulate learning and understanding and will tailor sessions to meet pupils' needs. DISCOVER THE WONDERS OF THE DEEP
Learning is at the core of The Deep's award winning submarium. The unique blend of stunning aquaria and state of the art interactive tells the fascinating story of the world's ocean featuring over 3,500 animals including 15 species of shark, giant Japanese Spider Crabs and the giant Pacific Octopus. A range of hands on interactive workshops are available for foundation to KS4, and professional presentations for post 16 learners.
