Power your imagination at Magna, the UK's first Science Adventure Centre. Housed in the former Templeborough Steelworks in Rotherham Inside you can explore the four elements of earth, air, fire and water and have fun firing giant water canons, launching rockets, boarding an airship, spinning in a gyroscopic chair and working real JCB’s. Experience two spectacular shows, the Big Melt a spectacular sound and light show and step into the personal world of the families of steel in the UK’s biggest multimedia show The Face of Steel. Step into the shoes of South Yorkshire’s steel workers at work and play in a new exhibition ‘Living Steel’, where you can hear the stories from the storymakers themselves. Outside discover Sci-Tek, Europe’s largest hi-tek science and technology playground which provides children with the opportunity to combine learning with play. Spray, squirt, mist and drench in Aqua-Tek the UK’s largest outdoor, interactive, water play area. Visitors are able to follow the water treatment process…make it safe to drink, treat the waste water, then send it back to the river; trace the colourful floor graphics to discover the reservoirs, filtration and disinfectant points; and interact at the role-play areas around the exhibition. Youngsters will also be able to play the part of particles or micro-organisms which follow a clear route to complete their ‘treatment’ or cleansing journey.
